What Does a Carrier’s Website Actually Need?

At minimum, a trucking company website needs clear services/lanes information, a way to reach dispatch or sales fast (phone number visible everywhere, a simple contact form), a driver recruiting section, and basic trust signals — DOT number, years in business, safety record. Without these, brokers and drivers bounce.

Brokers and shippers checking out a carrier online are looking for proof the company is real, established, and easy to reach — not a design portfolio. A DOT number displayed prominently, a phone number that isn’t buried in a contact page, and clear service-area/lane information do more for conversion than any amount of stock photography.

The recruiting side matters just as much

If the site doesn’t have a dedicated, easy-to-find careers or driver-recruiting section, it’s missing half its job. Drivers checking out a company before applying look for pay structure hints, equipment info, and an easy application path — not just a generic “we’re hiring” banner.

Trust signals that actually move the needle

Safety record/BASICs standing (even summarized in plain language), how long the company has operated under its current authority, and any reviews or testimonials all function as proof points brokers and drivers use to decide whether to call.
